What is the solar payback period?

In 2019, the solar payback period was approximately 10-12 years. But due to the government’s recent removal of VAT on all solar components and installations (23% price reduction), the SEAI solar grant of €2,100 and improvements in solar technology, the current average payback period is 6 years and 2 months.

Finance Ireland offer low-cost solar financing for our customers. This means you can have solar installed with as little as a €300 deposit.

Our solar grant fast-track process, which involves our customer service team managing all the paperwork, has over a 99.9% grant approval rate. However, if you house was built after 2021 you will not be eligible to apply.

Our Longi high-performance panels are under full warranty for 25 years, and they are guaranteed to still run at a performance of over 89% after 25 years.

On average, it takes 6 – 8 weeks to get your solar installed once you have received your tailored solar proposal.
